Section 29
Functions, Duties and Powers of the Board
In addition to the functions, duties and powers mentioned elsewhere in the prevailing law and this Act, the functions, duties and powers of the Board shall be as follows:-
(a) To give suggestions to the Government of Nepal on matters related to the development of commodity exchange market and commodity trading (b) To approve long-term and short-term plans and policies for the development of the barter market (c) To study the feasibility of operating a barter market,
(d) Registration of goods and commodity contracts that can be traded in the commodity exchange market,
(e) Ordering to close the commodity exchange market for a specified period or to suspend the business of the licensed institution for a specified period,
(f) instructing the concerned exchange to delist or delist any commodity or suspend any transaction,
(g) If there is any problem in the electronic transaction system of the commodity exchange market or if it is found that it needs to be improved, to order the suspension of the transaction until such improvement is made,
(h) To regulate and manage the purchase, sale, transfer of goods and goods contracts registered in the board (i) To regulate and monitor the activities of organizations and parties involved in the business that have received a license (j) Approving the regulations of the licensed organization,
(k) Instructing the relevant licensed organizations to make necessary provisions in the regulations to protect the interest of investors,
(l) Coordinating with other regulatory bodies to supervise and regulate matters related to goods or goods contracts,
(D) To give necessary instructions to improve the financial and managerial aspect of the organization that has received the license (d) Perform other tasks as specified.
